About KSW jewellery

I am based in North Wales, and all of my work is produced by myself in my workshop. By day I am a University Lecturer in jewellery and metalwork and Design for Decorative Arts, by evening I am a jeweller and maker of things and by night I am generally trying to wind down and relax!

I have a 1st class honors degree in Jewellery and Metalwork and Applied arts, and an MA in Jewellery and Metalwork, yep, I just love the education!!!

My work is inspired by the physical and emotional connection of clothing to the wearer. Within my work I explore the idea of memory and association; combining a selection of materials, predominantly epoxy and polyester resins, silver and textiles.

I enjoy mixing elements of found and donated fabrics with imagery and colour that are frequently present within the surface pattern. Combining the Resin with silver creates the feeling of preciousness, and the idea that something that was once worn or discarded can be treasured.

I am particularly interested in capturing memory, and my Wedding range has been developed to do just that. Brides and grooms have pieces created from pieces of their wedding garments, these are then kept and treasured long after the day has passed.
